The most recent season of Virgin River included a lot of drama and a fast-paced plotline that was challenging to follow.

Despite these flaws, the Ian Hay production managed to keep viewers engaged and provided some excellent cliffhangers and conclusions in the climax. Mel Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Martin Henderson) brought things to a more tranquil conclusion than in the previous season, which contributed to the season’s overall fast-paced nature.

Fans of the show will no doubt recall how the third season ended with an epic cliffhanger and a lot of unanswered questions. Similar things happen in this season, but at least Jack and Mel get their well-deserved resolution before a shocking conclusion sends everything into another uproar.

Virgin River Season 4’s twelve episodes were all made available on Netflix on July 20, 2022.

Virgin River ending explained: Schrödinger’s Jack

After Mel admitted she wasn’t certain whose child she was having, the entire fourth season of Virgin River centered around the issue of Jack’s paternity. Jack’s reluctance to learn the father’s identity demonstrated how much he cared for Mel.

Additionally, the couple got engaged before to the paternity test results. In a very pleasant turn of events, the outcomes revealed that Jack was in fact Mel’s father. But this wasn’t the only turn this season in his life.

The conclusion moved into darker territory after some turmoil involving Dr. Cameron Hayek (Mark Ghanimé), Lizzie (Sarah Dugdale), and Denny, the doctor’s grandson.

The story of Paige (Lexa Doig) and Christopher (Chase Petriw) received a lot of attention in the finale. Preacher stepped in just in time to save the mother and son after Vince (Steve Bacic) was able to pull Paige out using his plan.

In the process, Vince also disclosed that he was the one who shot Jack, solving another enigma from the previous season.

By introducing Melissa Montgomery at a business dinner, the Virgin River finale does establish an intriguing new storyline. In the restaurant, Melissa, Jack, Mel, and the others were all shown being photographed by someone. The woman who is purportedly carrying Jack’s twins, Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley), called to interrupt supper.

When Mel and Jack arrived to Charmaine’s house, they discovered her on the floor suffering from pain. She claimed that she believed her spouse would desert her and that she would lose her children.

The twins are not Jack’s children, Charmaine said in the episode’s final minutes. The show stopped before the characters could respond to this new development, leaving the fifth season to provide all the answers to the issues raised by this ending.

It was challenging to finish the season on a perfect note after such a busy season. However, in the 12th episode, Virgin River excelled. It not only answered many questions, but it also raised many new ones for the following season.

Virgin River’s 12 episodes are all available to stream right now on Netflix.
